Biography
Saada El-Akhrass is a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies at Queen's University and a research fellow for the North American Cultural Diplomacy Initiative. Until recently, she was Senior Programme Manager, Arts, Americas at the British Council, and previously held the position of Arts Manager for the British Council office in Canada, based in Toronto. Through a collaborative, mutual and transparent practice, she was interested in reframing cultural dialogue with the UK, by building partnerships with art practitioners and organizations, which is what brings her to NACDI.
She holds a master’s degree in Art Studies (Études des arts) from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQÀM), where she co-founded Les Territoires, an artist-run centre dedicated to emerging artists (2008-2019).
